F-in' Magellan, My Cousin Vinny, Smiley, Lawdog and Myself took a ride to the central coast on Saturday. F-in' Magellan is looking for a new helmet size BIG ASS HEAD. He thinks he might have to hollow a watermelon and used that. DOT approved. Our first stop was Gary Bang's in Astascadero. No luck on the Big Ass Head size.

We took Hwy. 58. 43 miles into San Luis Obispo County Smiley had to relieve himself. He felt better after that and we were able to move on.

After Gary Bang's it was about lunch time. There is only one place to go for lunch, dinner too. Thats Jocko's Steakhouse in Nipomo. Its north of Santa Maria. From the 166 take 101 north to the Nipomo Off Ramp turn right, it will be about 1 1/2 miles from 101. At lunch there is only one thing to order the the steak sandwich. Large steak sandwich if you want fries. Its a rib eye cut pan fried to order served on two slices of french bread. It also comes with salad and cowboy beans. Its the best. If you go for dinner you better have reservations or you won't get in. The spencer steak is is a great chose for dinner. The filet mignon is the biggest one I have ever eaten. And its gooood stuff. Not in the mood for steak try the pork chops, two of the biggest pork chops I've ever seen. All the dinners are grilled over an open flame and come with salad, bake potatos, beans, garlic bread and a doggie bag. My buddy Sam Iribarne has to hit this place about twice a month. And he wonders why he has heart problems. Jocko's Steakhouse, Old Highway 101 Teft St. Nipomo, Ca. (805) 929-3686. Go hungry.
After Jocko's we hit Santa Maria Harley-Davison Look for that Big Ass Head Helmet.
No luck there either. Before I left I blew up the craper. I wouldn't go in there until next weekend.

On our way back we made a stop at New Cuyama. There is a landmarker. It about a Nancy Kelsey the first American woman to cross over the Sierra Nevada's. With her husband they went to Oregon, Mexico, Texas and back, settling in Los Angeles. After her husband died she came back to New Cuyama. She did it all on foot in the 1800's. I guess her Mr. Kelsey wouldn't buy her a hourse or wagon to ride in. We call her Walkin' Nancy.

We always make our last stop of the day in New Cuyama. Smiley didn't get to mark his spot here because there was a CHP officer here. We told our last BS of the ride and our goodbyes and headed down the hill. Everytime I ride with these guys it a great time. When I am on my bike it's a great feeling. It only makes it better when you have good people to ride with. And thats what this Blog is about the good times and good friends I have to share these aventures with. Right now at this time of my life I wouldn't change anything. I have had my bike for 2 years now. Every ride is better than the last. Like Lawdog said, " I'm like a kid at Christmas. I can't wait." Blog at you later. Safe Riding.

Sounds like all had a great ride and chow too! It sounds like Jocko's is a place for me. I'll have to remember that joint.
