London Olympics Gold Medal Winner Jake Varner

 This is Olympic Wrestling Gold Medal winner Jake Varner. Jake is a two time California State Wrestling Champ at Bakersfield High School, two time NCAA Wrestling Champ with Iowa State, and 2012 95k freestyle gold medalist. And he was the last medal winner for the U.S.
This is close to home for me. Jake's dad Steve, grew up on the same street as I did. He was one of the older kids on the block, and was bigger than life to me growing up in that neighborhood. Steve later was a teacher of mine at Bakersfield High.
