Peggy Sue's Fifty Diner

When we left Bakersfield we took Hwy.58 east to Barstow. After getting gas. Law Dog suggested we grab a bite to eat at Peggy Sue's 50 Diner off the 15. Magellan and I split the Mickey Mouse Club Sandwich. It was a good sandwich. Law Dog had Navy bean soup. He enjoyed it. Bindo had Fries. Law Dog made a good call.

This place has character.  You enter through a 50's style juke box. Just
inside there is a movie box office there stands Betty Boop. The marquee welcomes you to Peggy Sue's. Go right to the diner, left a gift shop.

The shop has all kinds of fifty's stuff. It also has an old fashion soda fountain. I didn't see the Soda Jerk. I'm sure he was there somewhere.  Soda fountains aren't any big deal for us here in Bakersfield. We got Dewar's. Dewar's  is a well known around the country because of the Food Network.

Eating in the diner we where surrounded by a wall of Marilyn Monroe pictures. Bust of Jake and Elwood Blues on the fireplace. And of course a full size statue of the king of Rock and Roll, Elvis.
Next trip to Vegas I will stop in again.
